 About Plaristo

Plaristo makes candles, melts, and essential oils with a focus on quality, atmosphere, and responsible use of materials.

Our products are made using traditional candle-making techniques and carefully selected raw materials. We work with a thoughtful mix of natural ingredients and refined by-products from industry, chosen for their clean burn, consistency, and reliability. Wherever possible, we reuse materials, minimise waste, and make practical decisions that support long-term sustainability rather than short-term trends.

Plaristo is a family business founded in 2011 in Rye, East Sussex, by Nick and Silvia Shinn together with Christiana West. The company grew out of many years of work in Social Therapy, shaping our ongoing interest in wellbeing, human connection, and the way a space feels.

As the business developed, our eldest daughter Jennifer West joined the company, working in candle production as well as helping run the Rye shop and fulfil online orders.

Alongside our own in-house work, we also partner with trusted makers who share our values, including the German candle producer Kerzenfarm, with over 40 years of experience and a strong ethical approach to production.
