Knitting socks is not only fun but also immensely useful. There is nothing more comfortable than wearing your own handknitted socks. And they make the best presents. Once you have learned the basic structure of sock knitting, there is no end to the variations and colours. Let the fun begin!

  • Reading a basic sock pattern

  • Casting on and joining in the round

  • Ribbing

  • Knitting the leg

  • Knitting the Heel

  • Knitting the Heel Flap

  • Turning the Heel

  • Knitting the Gusset

  • Knitting the Foot

  • Knitting the Toe

  • Finishing your sock

  • Introduction to sock patterns and materials

What is included in your class:

  • 6 x 30-minute sessions (dates to be agreed)

  • Pattern for socks

  • 100g Plaristo Sock Yarn (60% wool, 20% Silk, 20% Ramie) dyed by Plaristo to colour of your choice

  • 5 double-pointed Knitting needles

  • Row counter

  • Stitch markers

  • Stitch holders

  • Notebook and Pencil

  • Refreshments
